Study Note: Subject and Predicate What is a Subject? The subject of a sentence is the part that tells who or what the sentence is about. It usually contains a noun or a pronoun . Example: Ravi plays cricket. (Here, "Ravi" is the subject – the person we are talking about.) What is a Predicate? The predicate of a sentence is the part that tells us something about the subject . It usually contains the verb and the rest of the information. Example: Ravi plays cricket . (Here, "plays cricket" is the predicate – it tells what Ravi does.) How to Identify?
